Performing Arts Centre
This new building provides a new performing arts centre for Wellington College, Berkshire.
It provides a state of the art theatre seating 950 which can also be used for whole School assemblies when it will hold 1150 pupils. It includes a 'Cultural Living Room' space for exhibitions and small performances, together with a bar, dressing rooms and a green room.
We worked closely with Studio Sielern in the early design stages of the project, exploring and modelling many options both for ventilation and lighting. We also worked with theatre consultants Charcoal Blue to ensure that the services were fully integrated with their requirements.
We were retained Client side to monitor the contractor Beard's design development and site progress.
The School have now taken over the building, it was officially opened by the Duke of Kent.
We deliver award-winning coordinated building services engineering solutions: cost effective, user friendly, energy efficient, and always conscious of the architectural objectives.
